Great Great service. I have been trying to unlock my iphone for a while now nothing worked 1600 error 1604 got everything out there. This procedure was quick n easy. By the way the workaround for the sim issue is as (42. Willoughby) explained

Hi all, i used this tool for the first time. I updated the iphones 2G of two friends via itunes to 2.2 and after that i did exactly what is written above. it worked with the first try. great work and so easy to use.

Just tried the 2.2 unlock for the first time. I followed the directions to the letter and it unlocked and jailbroke my 2G Iphone perfectly. The holding the buttons part must be followed exactly. Before I unlocked/jailbroke my phone I erased and reset all settings leaving maximum amount of space available on the phone for apps. If you can follow directions you can unlock your iphone. I used Windows Vista and Itunes 8.0.2.20.Thanks guys!!

When I run quickpwn, at the last step where there are instructions to hold home button for 5 seconds etc, there is a pop up that says that the phone was loaded in the wrong mode, or something like that. It also says that either the USB is not connected right or the instructions were now followed right. I have tried it a number of times with no luck. Can someone help me with this problem. I am trying to jailbreak a 2g iphone with the 2.2firmware that I updated with itunes.

i have tried for hous to unlock iphone its stays on the preparing iphone screen in quickpwn it wont even go to the hold down the home butoon did i do something wrong ever happen before please i need help

hi all,im living in ksa and i have jb my iphone 2g with 2.2.1 but there is no carrier in my phone .i have tried every thing that in the discussion blow but nothing happens can anybody help me with this

Harold, you see that others have this issue. Do you know anything about this error or problem or are you just poiting out to 3g users that this only works for 2g? even though it worked for my 3g just fine.

Here is the scoop for those who have problem with wrong firmwire all you need to do is download 2.1 and restore your iphone to 2.1 holding shift when presing restore the program will open location where the old software should be place the restore 2.1 in and run restore once you downgradet to 2.1 ran the software abowe and you home. And thank you for the program greate help all the best from Poland]Robert

BootNeuter allows one to unlock their iPhone, "neuter" it, flash a Fakeblank bootloader, and flash the 3.9 or 4.6 bootloader image, regardless of the iPhone's bootloader version. Bootneuter does not support the X-Gold 608 and X-Gold 618, used by the successors to the original iPhone.

A neutered bootloader will let you use bbupdater on modified ICE*.fls files, so now you don't even need a separate app to unlock. As discussed on the simple_unlock page, you can now unlock the baseband before it even gets put on your iPhone!

BootNeuter is able to switch your first generation iPhone's bootloader between 3.9 or 4.6 at will. If your iPhone got onto bootloader 3.8, BootNeuter can upgrade it. Although BootNeuter makes flashing the bootloader easy, you should still only switch versions as necessary.

A Fakeblank bootloader allows for iPhone hackers to be able to run serial payloads directly at S-Gold 2 reboot time. If BootNeuter detects that your iPhone is currently fakeblanked, it will do all of its bootloader operations via serial payload and won't need to erase/reprogram the baseband to make bootloader changes. If you don't know what FakeBlank means, you probably should leave it off when using BootNeuter.

The newly released iPhone 3.1.3 firmware for iPhone and iPod touch updates baseband to 05.12.01 on iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G, hence making it impossible for these two devices to get unlocked using blackra1n with blacksn0w. Fortunately for iPhone 2G (the first generation iPhone with EDGE) users, the baseband remains intact. The iPhone DevTeam has just confirmed that their newly released jailbreaking tool called redsn0w 0.9.3 can be used to jailbreak and unlock iPhone 2G on firmware 3.1.3, provided that you have jailbroken it previously at least once.

Now you have the Custom firmware, put your iPhone in DFU mode using PT, close PT and open iTunes (if iTunes opens while putting iPhone into DFU just close it after PT says Success you are in DFU and open it again)

I've managed to restore the iphone 2G to 3.0 using windows though and its working fine now but I'm still curious on why the application failed to complete the tasks on my mac but works fine with the windows vista. is it not compatible for my mac? or is my mac outdated?

Man i did what i was told to do but still when the process is over, my iphone restarts on the emergency screen, it shows signals from my operator even i can recieve calls but there is no home screen. plzzzz help me with this quick.

i finally got through all the steps and now its stuck on "waiting for reboot". its been there for a long time. is my phone fried or does redsn0w just take forever? please help my phone wont even turn back on now!!

i got around that by not installing icy and by unchecking the unlock box. when i upgraded to 3.0 it undid the jailbraking but not the unlock so trying to unlock my iphone with redsn0w didnt work since my phone was already unlocked. i hope that helps.

Could someone please help me? I'm using a windows pc. I have just upgraded to 3.0 and now I can't unlock my phone because I can't get to the restore button on itunes (with sim error: "the sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported," without sim error: "itunes cannot activate your iphone because the sim card is not inserted or a sim pin is required"). Thanks.

I have purchased an unlocked & jailbroken iphone 3G with FW3.0. I intend to use it in India with any GSM carrier. Currently I'm in US and trying to test it using Tmobile SIM, but it doesn't work, when I insert the SIM, it doesnt show anything and after about 5 min it gives "no signal" message on the top left corner.

Hello, I recently upgraded my 2G jailbroken iphone to 3.0 via redsn0w and all is well, except now I can't seem to disable data roaming. I have always just used wifi and have no need to download emails etc when not in access of wifi, but now i can't even read saved emails (which I often need to) as it automatically downloads new ones which is costing me a fortune. I have tried Settings > General > Network > Data Roaming off, but it hasn't fixed it. Can anyone help please!!!

2. i noticed there is a symbol beside my service provider on the top left hand corner of my iphone. it always switches between 'E' and 'O'. i have done some research, and 'E' means EDGE.. i dunno what 'O' means.

was just wondering if anyone got any solution to this? or anyone facing the same issue? i feel like downgrading it to 2.2.1 but that version on iphone 2g is really slow. would appreciate any feedback.

4. Last time when i've upgraded from 1.1.3 to 2.2.1 there was issues with backup/restore [i've not got any contacts, neither wify, youtube nor GPRS on iphone was running] so i've downgraded to 2.2 and all data came correctly from backup. Does upgrade to 3.1.2 will give me my data back from restore?

hi, i have successfully upgrade my iphone 2g from 2.2.1 to 3.0 using redsnow. However, after the upgrade, i was facing some problems with the battery drainage, and eventually the iphone was stuck and could not reboot no more. I sent it to iRESQ and they replaced the logic board. I am trying to unlock and update the iphone to 3.1.2; Itunes does not provide the summary tab. Instead, it displays the following msg "iphone you connected is not recognized and cannot be activated". Any ideas on how to restore any firmware on the iphone since I cannot get to the summay tab? Your help is appreciated.

My iphone has only the ipod, contacts working now. I can't make phone calls (says iphone cannot make or receive calls, use itunes to restore), wifi is greyed out, all sounds ringtones and keypads are not working.

Warranty in Australia (On imported phones)Be aware that unlocking/modifying your iphone in any way to work on Australian networks will void your warranty. There have been mixed reports about Apples stance on repairs, however it is generally acknowledged that unless you have a phone contract with one of Apples approved carriers, they will not service your phone. (As Apple do not currently sell iphones in Australia, you would theoretically need to take your phone back to Apple in the USA.) If you are having issues with a broken iphone, third party repair services are available in Australia. (Link at the bottom of this page)

BootloaderThere are at least two bootloaders in the iPhone. One is the ARM Core Bootloader and deals with the Operating System, the other is the Baseband Bootloader. Bootloaders make sure that when the iPhone boots it is doing things in the right order, and getting everything done. Currently the iPhone has shipped with two different Baseband Bootloaders (3.9 and 4.6). The 3.9BL allowed us to load a hacked baseband which matches the firmware version. Apple changed this feature in the 4.6 BL and made it require a baseband of a newer firmware version. This is why the Dev Team has released a 3.9 fakeblank BL which allows you to load a hacked baseband matching your firmware version.

SDKSDK is short for Software Development Kit and it's basically a library of software that helps you develop applications and utilities. Apple has just released the iPhone SDK which is the set of tools needed to create applications that run on the iPhone. 350c69d7ab
